Breakfast time…

Good afternoon everyone. Even though breakfast was awhile ago, I made myself a lovely sugar free smoothie that I thought I would share with you guys. Even though at the beginning of this blog, I established it as a writing promotion sort of thing, now I want to expand that, as I have been doing previously with the art stuff, and even more recently with the corona virus stuff.

So the story is that this morning I was about to pull out some weet-bix and have the same old boring breakfast that I have every single morning, but then I thought NO MORE! I can’t handle eating the same, lukewarm pile of mush sprinkled with a grain of sugar anymore!

And you’re probably wondering, wow, Emma, calm down, what the heck triggered you to start acting like a crazy lunatic about a bowl of breakfast you’re probably never going to think about again? Well, you see, on all the weet-bix boxes, the side and back feature two random recipes, and on this particular box, it featured “Banana Berry Smoothie”.

Now, for those of you who have never met me in real life, you wouldn’t know this, but I am obsessed with smoothies, and I have one almost every morning when I’m not having heated up weet-bix mush. And who could blame me? They’re delicious, they’re smooth, they’re easy to drink on the go, and best of all they’re healthy.

So I saw this recipe, and I was thinking, nah, that can’t possibly be any better then my regular one, because I had tried one of the weet-bix box recipes before and it failed tremendously. (It was one of those nutrition ball things, and I may have added a bit too much maple syrup, but I’m just gonna pretend it failed because the recipe was bad.)

But this time it was different. You see, I am a master at making smoothies due to the fact that I drink them very frequently, and so I put the ingredients in the blender, and mixed ‘em around until they were of a thick and gooey, but still liquid-y consistency. And once that at first glance disgusting vomit was poured out into the huge cups we reserve for smoothies, and once that slimy liquid was cascading into my lungs, my eyes widened at the perfect consistency and breathtaking taste…

But enough of that – I need to get a move on and actually tell you the recipe and get an image for you, and all that jazz! 😂🤣

Weet-bix banana berry smoothie

Ingredients
2 weet-bix
1 banana, chopped
1/2 cup of fresh or frozen berries
1 cup of milk
Method
Legitimately all you have to do is chuck all the
ingredients in the blender and combine until
smooth. For normal people, this serves two, for
people like me, this only serves one.
As you can see, this is more a bucket then a
glass, hence the fact my version only serves one!
