Flawless Feline

Good day to all those who are a part of humanity! I don’t know about you, but I am really enjoying image based poetry at the moment, I have absolutely no idea why! I guess its something about having a deeper connection with the piece of writing since its idea came from a photo I took… but in any case, its fun, and if your brain is drained, and you want to do some writing to relax, I would definitely recommend this!

Sadly, the featured fatness in this photo is currently sick, but she is getting better, and just the other day she finally finished a bowl of food that she would have finished in seconds on a normal day. This picture shows her ferocity while defending a plant and its pot that she uses as a scratching pole and a nap bed.

Gonna sound like a broken record, but remember that we are all humans, and none of us are perfect, and if we were, that would be really boring. (If you’re wondering, that was a badly phrased version of a quote from Misty Copeland, a famous principle dancer in the American ballet.) Keeping that in mind, if you do have any comments, and are unsure of how to do it, see the navigation page in the contents bar at the top of the blog.

Having said that, I have babbled on about a cat and a drained brain in the time it could have taken for you to read my actual poem, so without any more hassle, au revoir 🥖🥐…

The cat
So solemnly beautiful
Yet so hastily ferocious
Watching your every move
Remembering each one with excruciating detail

Their fur so soft
Their eyes so sinister
Following you with them wherever you go
Waiting for the perfect moment
Pouncing flawlessly every time

So many breeds, so many categories
Labelled by what they are worth
By what they look like
And what they feel
Constantly itemized by our superior species

Until they prove they are alpha
With their violent hissing
And grazing swipe
They slit with malicious accuracy
But underneath all that remains...

A fluffy, silky, unimpeachable cat.

Rustic Beauty

Good afternoon my fellow mankind. I was going through my photos, and I came across this absolutely stunning one. (Not trying to brag or anything, but I thought I did pretty well 😏.) Anyway, I looked at it for a while, and all that was going through my mind was urges and drives pressuring me to do a post about it – so here I am, squeezing my creativity sponge until there is basically nothing left!

Now I realize this poem doesn’t exactly reflect upon the image flawlessly, but these were the ideas that sparked from seeing this picture, so maybe just enjoy them separately…

Having said that, remember if you wish to leave a comment be polite and remember all our humane values. Feel free to leave any feedback, but any bullying or nasty comments will not be tolerated. Enjoy!

Divine in its way of pitiful despair
Beauty written all over its rustic grim aura
Its dark devastation so winsome to those who choose to see

So misunderstood, only noticed for its imperfections and flaws
Appreciation is a stranger
Detestation is the familiar

The popular opinion can make or break an individual
Those cheeky whispers making their way through the world
Into someone's ear
And their heart
Destroying them from the inside to out
The fons et origo of egomaniacs

This raw sentimentality allows them to dwell at night
If only they could put a filter on life
Shielding them
Protecting them

Flawless in its way of preserving innocence
Pristine in its way of perpetuating purity
Perfect in its way of cushioning the truth

Photography and Words

Hello fellow human beings. I have my October resolution and I am not going to say I am trying, because otherwise I will procrastinate, knowing that I have left you with uncertainty. My little pact I have made with myself is that I will do at least one post every week, and I know that sounds sub optimal, and downright lazy. but it would be better then me lying to you and saying I’ll be doing a post daily.

I have recently found my love for photography, as well as my love for art, for walking, for ice cream, and for many other exciting things I have discovered over the past year. Uncoincidentally, I just received a new phone, and so I am able to take way better photos than my old alternative, and the editing tools are much more advanced, and I am much happier with the results.

I know that my editing skills aren’t out of this world, but what I do know is that they are to my personal style and that everyone’s style is different, and so if you have any suggestions, feel free to leave them in the comments, but any nasty trolls will be banned – remember if you don’t have something noice to say, don’t say anything! *Me groaning at how cheesy I sound repeating that old broken record*

Anyway, below I have written a short but hopefully sweet poem about a picture I took while walking at the beach. I quite enjoyed writing about an image, and so you will be seeing a lot more of image based poetry in the future.

Until next time, I bid you farewell…

The painted sky like a bird
Sheltering the world beneath its wings
Witnessing all the beauty and pain life has to offer
Keeping us safe from greater things

Soft is the sand on a warm, tepid day
Rough and scratchy it seems in the desert
Sinking between little toes, sticking to wet legs
It follows you home, unsure whether you resent it

The glistening water, opaque when deep
The horizon blurring the border between earth and heaven
Underappreciated when temperamental, foggy with its vision of perfection
A fairy tale day is still and tranquil, but storms don't beckon
